5 Reasons to AVOID a Massimo UTV or SxS | 1 year update

Here is a 1 year update of the Massimo t-boss 550. It has developed new issues since the last video. Massimo had stopped reaching out after offering to supply the rear axle seal when the unit was still under warranty. I had already ordered the seal from Massimo. The seal has failed again. Here are 5 reasons you may want to consider a different brand.

Bought my T-Boss 550 at Tractor Supply in Magnoila TX, had an issue with the battery right off the bat, but replaced it and that solved that issue. I did talk to Customer Service here in Garland Texas and they were actually helpful. I use it around my property at home and then out at my ranch in West Texas for hunting works as advertised. No issues, love the fact they are assembled here in the states.

I had a 2017 Honda Pioneer 500 . I put over 3000 miles on it with no problems or oil leaks. I loved that machine. Sold to when we moved.

I took my 760 off road and it did great! I had one problem and that was that the rocks snagged my tires. Outside of that it it climb and it was great in the mud. I actually upgraded some of my stuff. I also (like I do on all bikes) I used locktiteon all my bolts. No leaks after a really hard ride. I love how these guys have a problem with everything.

I bought this tboss 550 last week and brought it into a super remote shack in Northern Minnesota. It did great! Cold snowy starts. And handled the trail better than my 570 sportman. (Bottomed out less) The battery and winch combo isn't up to par for heavy use situations though. Broke passenger side mirror as well. Machine is not 54" as advertised. (Manual even pays 58")
This machine very well be the best buy as long as i can manage the maintenance. HAVENT HAD TO ORDER ANY PARTS YET.
Thanks for then video bro. Will check out some more. 🎉😊

We’ve had our MSU 500 about 9 years with only light use on our ranch. This was a Black Friday purchase at Tractor Supply and we have enjoyed it without any significantly major issues. However recently the transmission has started making a kind of grinding sound which has me concerned. My biggest complaint with Massimo is the difficulty in finding someone in east Texas to actually service them. This is odd considering they are headquartered right near here in Garland, Texas. Although they do post a list of authorized service centers, you soon find when contacting them that quite a few of these places no longer exist and closed years ago. Others say they no longer service Massimo and haven’t for years. They’ve unsuccessfully tried to get Massimo to remove their names from their site. Others have said they have never serviced Massimo. It’s very misleading (even fraudulent) for Massimo to continue promoting a list of service centers when they know it is not current or even correct. I’m surprised there’s not a class action suit because of the extent of it.

Got the Tboss 560 with the upgraded 10inch lcd screen. Comes loaded with winch, windshield, roof and gps. Recently changed tires at 300 mile mark and put on a set of SunF A021 tires. Ride mostly on the street and paved/rock roads. Sold original tires to my neighbor for his Polaris. The Sunf Tires are less noisy on the road and helps to cut down on the vibration these machines are prone too. Didn't get it to go trail riding anyway, putzing around town and ride to the local lake with my dog. He rides shotgun and enjoys the sxs more than me, I think.

sorry you have had some bad luck with your machine. I have a 2018 550 T-Boss I bought new and have had no problems at all. It has 3500 miles on it. I have trailed with it. No complaints, but I agree it's not a trail machine. More of a work, utility machine. Just curious if you did any research before buying it. Bought mine from a farm store and communicated with them as to working on it if need be. They have a service department and informed me they could work on it if needed. Maybe getting out and running it some more other than in your yard might help that rear diff seal. Have seen seals that stopped leaking after more, frequent use. Just a thought. Thanks for your review. Hope all works out for you.

Agreed with buying from a dealer ! I bought my 450x from one and at 200 miles the rear end started going out and the ignition went bad. They picked it up and fought with massimo for 2 months for the parts for it

I purchased a club car carryall, 14 Hp and tall tires on it, it’ll run 30 given a long straight stretch, it ain’t a power kinda UTV . It has a lot larger dump bed, oil and axle oil change once a year . And it goes a goes, it’s a great tool to save walking everywhere and hauling a light load , If you can find one, they are handy, they have gas and diesel on newer ones and 20 hp if that’s what you need

Good points on your review. I bought a used 2020 Bennche Tboss 550. Not the 550F model with the metal box, but otherwise the same thing. No rattle issues, but that may be because it's a plastic box. When I got it, I thought it had reverse lights. Turns out it has brake and turn signal lights only. When I put in reverse, it makes the beeping noise, which can be disconnected. I believe yours is the same, but could be wrong. Anyway, thanks for the video.

I bought the 1000 bison years ago. It never worked properly! The dealer couldn't repair it, and the factory couldn't figure out what was wrong. Didn't last a year. I would have had more fun going to the casinos with the same amount of money and probably would have come out better. Be aware is all I can say. It was a bought lesson for me.

If you are inclined rig it but seals going out replace bearings might fix it.

I work at a service shop and we used to be a massimo dealer. Absolutely a joke company. Nothing is covered under warranty, trying to get parts is a nightmare (waiting months for the simplest things), still haven't paid us for the warranty work that they did approve.

We currently have about 6 of these sitting in our yard waiting for parts. Most of them need wet clutches. I've done them as low as 200km.

Agreed with quality control being horrendous. Nothing is ever tight (had 2 front diffs not tightened from factory and customers had them break the frame and grenade, also were not sold by our shop)

We're now refusing to work on them. Giving us a bad name and wasting our time. We also sell Hisuns which in comparison are leaps and bounds ahead of Massimo. An actual warranty that covers parts and the new mp9 units are fairly sharp with a new trailing arm design (which is interesting for a utility unit) that rides awesome.

Cfmoto uforce 600 is about 200 dollars more with a great warranty and dealer network is only getting bigger.we had a 600 for a few years with 5000 miles on it with no major issues. We just upgraded to a uforce 1000 .

These were some of the biggest concerns I had with a newer company that doesn't really have a name out there the price is really awesome if they could find two in those little bits it wouldn't cost them that much more and they could still do so well. I think I'm going to end up going with a Polaris just because the price and then the parts availability some people said they have no issues like you had you might have got a lemon but I would be scared of the same thing if I don't have any compatibility where I'm at there's just no reason to get it.
