FYI the electric motor is not attached to the engine. They are completely separate from each other, with the engine and transmission in the front and the electric motor in the rear.

Hello. I own a PHEV BMW X1 xDrive 30e, U11 and I would like to know how to charge it properly. Does it make sense to try to keep the battery between 20 - 80% as with most fully electric cars, or is this not an issue with modern PHEVs and always charge to full? I've heard that PHEVs have the type of battery that don't mind a full discharge and a full charge. Which would even make sense, given their capacity and limited range in electric mode, where you almost always drain the battery all the way while driving.
