I am starting a new panda guppy colony. Breeding guppies has been something I been really pushing the past 2 years and I have worked so hard to get this panda guppy strain to where it is now. I stared by selectively breeding the guppies and then taking those guppies and starting a colony. As that first colony grew in number’s I then selected the best male and females and began to breed them I a separate tank and let the guppies colonize and repeated the steps to come up with the male guppy you will see in the video. Now even though I am very happy with the panda guppies I have I am still looking for guppy breeders that have the black panda strain to see if they match what I am looking for to enhance the genetics in my panda guppy strain. I am trying to make sure the pectoral fins on my panda guppies are all black along with the dorsal fin and tale of the male guppies. How I select my female panda guppies is choosing the female guppies that have the most black in the dorsal fin and tail. I will be also breeding guppies in my back yard and will be doing future videos on guppy breeding tubs now that it is getting warmer in Florida. Any losses or unexpected events are important to track. Sounds like you have a great plan and know what product you want in the end. Ah thanks very much for the mention bud. Hope the idea works for you. Done it with pebbles from other tanks myself before.
Remember you don't need a tank to grow algae. Wee glass or clear container on a warm window sill, filled with aquarium water and a few pebbles and you should be able to grow algae on them to transfer to tanks too. 👍

I might have a weird question. I got a Panda Guppy Pair aound 2 years ago and i now have 2 tanks full of just their desendants. I recently spotted a juvenile male with a weird coloration.
His main body color is dark grey translucent like a females ( he is still quite young ).
At the base of his tail fin but on his body he has a bright turquise spot with a lighter blueish uneven patch around it the tail fin is translucent.
He has the a darker blue spot behind his pectoral fins with a turquiose patch around them and the spines of his dorsal fin are yellow metallic.
I dont know mutch about their genetics i just got them because they were gorgeous so im not sure if this is something resessive popping up or if it could be a mutation.
Im thinking about setting him up with some juvenile females to see if he passes his colours down to his offspring.
What do you think is more likely?
The seller at the convention i got them from told me they breed true so im a little surprised but i dont know much about the strain and thought maybe you could know or have an idea :D
