Political Leader of the Democratic National Alliance, Joanne Massiah speaks on the Willoughby Bay Project on Observer AM.
The project, as presented to the public stands to take up 5-10% of Antigua's Land Mass which is in the region of 3000-4000 acres of Land. The Political Leader questioned the feasibility of the project as well as the real benefit to the people of Antigua and Barbuda.
She indicated that in this time of economic strain and uncertainty that this level of redevelopment would be better served in an existing community such as Parham Town and the surrounding environs. There have been talks by successive Administrations concerning the Land around the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium and transforming it into a world-class sporting village.
A DNA Administration is committed to ensuring that every day Antiguan and Barbudan citizens and residents are considered first when we talk about development. We are dedicated to making decisions taking into consideration the economic, social, and environmental impact.
