The requirements to send in a photo ID and provide personal information are probably because of "know your customer" regulations of the federal government, which are meant to combat money laundering and the use of financial services for illegal activities. In other words, Brave probably doesn't want that information; the federal government does, and the federal government probably wouldn't allow Brave to trade in cryptocurrency without it obeying the KYC regulations.

The BAT verification thing isn't brave, all crypto exchanges in the US require it. That's the patriot act for you.

Totally agree with you on the KYC (know your customer) feature I would not send personal info to third party verification too risky! Great video :)

I tried Brave last year. Not sure how it is now but I noticed that there's no ad interruption when watching YouTube videos.

I've just downloaded it onto both Mac and iPhone, mostly because Chrome destroyed my YouTube experience. I'm still liking it compared to Chrome, but take your point about the Chromium resonances.

you can completely turn off bat and those popup ads in settings .

I see adguard is the best solution for for ads and trackers. Helped me a lot in many if not all cases

I use Brave browser with Ads.. i wish more people would join them for Ad revenue. Instead its lot of Digital Coin ads. What I love about it it is safe and uses duck engine
