There never was, or will be, an intro to beat this. Rock history.

50 years ago we had great music & shitty cameras.
Now we got great cameras.

Back in the late 80's I was working on a T.V. show with our music producer who happened to be Ray Colcord. I never put two and two together until I just happened to play Rock 'N Roll Animal one night and discovered it was Ray on keyboards! The next day I came over to him with a look on my face that he saw coming. He just smiled and said, "John, that was another life." RIP Ray Colcord.

I was 16 when this came out. Every cool kid in my school had this. I've heard this at every party. Hunter and Wagner just destroyed everything live with this. I still listen to this regularly.Played this in our band regularly. The bass though, is truly beautiful.Ive studied everything note from the studio version. This version is truly timeless. The video is odd, but I enjoy it every time...

Been listening to this masterpiece since 1973. One of the greatest intros ever. Some as good. None better
A video for the ages.

One of the greatest double lead rock guitar arrangements of all time. Being a guitarist myself, this is my personal favorite because it was improvised live, but still turned out perfectly for the Rock n Roll Animal LP. I’ve probably listened to it a thousand times or more, but it never gets old!

Prakash John is really laying the funk down and keeping it down with this awesome bass line.

I like being in a bar at night and playing this version on the jukebox. It doesn't take long for other people to start asking each other, "Who is this? or "What song is this?" It always impresses them.

My Favorite version of this song because of Steve Hunter and Dick Wagner. Some of the best lead guitar I've ever heard.

If you were around the Boston area in the mid 70's this song was a staple on WBCN. Had this album and absolutely wore it out. For some reason I just want to go up to my old bedroom in the attic of my old house and do some bong hits while playing this song at volume 11. So glad I was alive in the 70's. before this world got so effd up
