The Hamilton Incident - Elite Dangerous Machinima

Hey Guys,

I JUST HIT 10K SUBS!! WOOHOO THANKS TO ALL MY SUBS!

In celebration, I have decided to do a feature animation using the new 2.3 Camera System

Its not perfect, there are some continuity issues, obvious plot holes, the voice acting is REALLY BAD, and my attempts to create another character and differentiate it using a Russian accent are just laughable. Sorry to any of my Russian viewers, I was kinda stuck on how to voice another character.

Everything was done using the 2.3 camera from my own perspective. It means there was no help, no extra ships or other commanders helping me with shots.

Was this a lot of work? YES.. I MEAN REALLY YES.. but it was fun, and I enjoyed it.

And while the new camera system really allows me to unleash my creative potential, it is still rather limited with what it can do, such as no track target, and a 250m range when on a planet.
I could have done a LOT more using other commanders as actors as I filmed, but I was unable to get anyone in the time frame that I had.

For my next video I will see if I can get some commanders to help me out and take it to a completely different level.
Anyway, I hope you still enjoyed the video.

WHOOAAA Holy Poop on a stick! I posted this video last night, then basically went to bed. Woke up, and the response has been overwhelming.

I cant reply everyone, cause I would be here all day, but THANKYOU.. I am glad most of you liked it. I was kinda a bit worried everyone would get put off with the voices, but it seems I was worried for no reason.. LOL.. Unfortunately there is no sequel, well.. that I know of as yet.. I meant to leave it there so that we can think about the commanders fate.. Does he go to the settlement and face what ever is there, or face the impending doom of running out of oxygen.. What would you do? ;)

Also Hamilton Incident is one hell of a good example of what you can do with a new camera asset. Outstanding work CMDR VJ. Very well done.

Excellent job indeed there Cmdr, and no need to apologise for anything in this video! I feel your pain about voicing multiple parts...while I have had 8 guest voices appearing in my own series to date, along the way I've also had to voice a further five (two of them recurring) parts myself - six if you also include my Potato engineer, lol
It is a challenge, that's for sure - but I've stumbled across a few tricks that can help sometimes. Feel free to give me a shout any time - these new camera tools are a pure gift for all us Elite video makers, and I reckon the more we can all work together with them, the better showcase we'll all be able to make for our favourite game! :)

I will admit to having watched this at least a dozen times over and it never getting old, no matter how many times watched. Always wanted to see something narrative-based like this. Despite your above listed constraints, I'd like to say you've done tremendously well and I've found it both entertaining and encouraging to think about similar endeavors.
