Melbourne - better education, cheaper than sydney (both are still expensive), better public transport, more culture, more livable
Sydney - better weather (though i prefer colder weather), better beaches, better trains, ferries, more fun i guess, more attractions

Melbourne for the win. Sydney is a nice place to visit, especially around the harbor. But for living and life style, Melbourne hands down. Melbourne is easy to get around, has great suburbs. It's cheaper, the restaurants, the traffic. It's a no brainier.

I’m traveling just spent 6 weeks in Melbourne and have now been in Sydney for almost 2 weeks so far. I think Sydney is prettier, nicer beaches etc but I think Melbourne has more character

Well it’s completely subjective according to your preferences tbh there are very little differences, I prefer Hobart Tasmania over both of them because it’s more calming

I think Melbourne vs Sydney is similar to Wellington vs Auckland. One gets all the surface attention and the other has all the character .

I love visiting Sydney, really do, and I used to live there. But I prefer to live in Melbourne. Roads that aren't spaghetti and lower cost of living are two big factors for me.

Melbourne resident here. Melbourne is where it’s at. Coffee. Food. Yarra valley. 🎉😂❤. We get 4 seasons in one day. We get to wear all our wardrobe. Girl maths…means you get more out of our hard spent money for our clothes all the time 😂
