If you have older version of Excel (without Power Query) there is still way how to do.

Thanks for posting these instructions! Absolutely saved me! I had a table in Excel that I had identified several string values in a textjoin column (comma separated). I used Get & Transform > From Table/Range to bring it into Power Query, removed all the columns so I only had the column with the comma separated list created by the textjoin. I used Power Query to separate the list into columns, then selected all columns and used unpivot to put them into a single column. Then I removed duplicates and blanks and loaded it to it's own table which gave me a clean list of distinct string values. It would have been much harder to do this using Excel functions only. Thank you so much!

Hello Excellent Ideas & Tips, here is another massive thank you for your help - Earlier, I commented to thank you for this very useful tip, but then, I needed a little more help in other aspects of Excel. I took a chance and emailed you - we are strangers to each other. You responded swiftly and provided me with further tips which enabled me to resolve my query. I believe that you deserve more visibility, because, not only are you smart, but also, you are very very kind. Thank you again.
