Papa's speech is (obviously) perfect. But something that just struck me is that the reasons baby bird quoted as why nobody ought to love him are so random and arbitrary. And if that isn't the most relatable part of this whole thing then Idk what is. When I stop and think about why I don't feel lovable, when I really stop and consider it, it's all the most pointless and self absorbed sh*t. The reasons why I don't feel lovable are a few random things that I lack but appreciate in others, but I haven't the first idea as to what the next person values. Sure, if I met myself I might not be impressed, but someone else might. It's so easy to see our own beauty as mundane, or to see the beauty in others and want it for ourselves. But we all have our own strengths and wants, they just don't always align.

We all deserve someone who loves us for what we do bring to the table, but we all NEED someone who loves us regardless of what we bring. Someone who loves us for nothing at all, but for the gift that I am me.

I've had a lot problems with my dad, especially getting older. But I know without a reasonable doubt he loves me. Whenever I see anything form of media that shows a beautiful relationship between a father and child. It's one of the only things that can bring me to tears. This is so beautiful. It makes me look forward to growing up and hopefully becoming a dad myself.
