I am quite confused at how this whole system is supposed to work without broadcast. In particular, at 1:09 you say, "It will first try to find a router." How is it supposed to do that without knowing its address? I can't think of any way other than broadcasting to do so.

Furthermore, 3:14 confuses me. You say that hosts find each other on a network by the sender sending a Neighbor Solicitation Message to its neighbor to get the address, but don't you need the address in the first place to make this message reach there?

What prevents a rogue host responding to the all router multicast address and intercepting all traffic?

Hi people, anyone happen to know what the initial destination MAC address of the frame is when the first message is sent and the sending host has no knowledge of the MAC address it needs to get to? Is it ffff.ffff.ffff?

You keep jumping ahead a few steps at a time. You should go step by step. Not two to three steps at a time.
