I will add, almost any trade job that requires some difficulty of skill and you work your way up to be the BEST in the field. You can make way more than the incomes on this video. My cousin makes equivalent to $100 dollars an hour as an electrician.

The 2 guys who built the fence around my property, claimed they make over a $100k a year each. I would not be surprised they put up a $4, 775 fence up in just 2 days, It was amazing to watch they had all the right equipment and worked so smart and efficient.

I know another guy, all he does is rebuilds automatic transmissions after someone else pulls the trannies and cleans the parts. He owns a huge house, RV, dirt bikes, river boat....

Back in the 80’s, when I was working in HVACR, one of my coworkers told me that he went to school to be an aircraft mechanic. He said that he couldn’t find a mechanic’s job anywhere in Texas so he was hired to install refrigeration equipment and work on the owner’s Cessna. He only got paid $9.25/hour.

Union boilermaker apprentice making $44/hr. Some of our guys making well over $50. And the overtime? Over $100/hr. Double those numbers when you include benefits. It's dirty, dangerous, long hours, highly skilled, physical labor. Not everyone is cut out for it.

Good paying trades jobs are hard to get, if not impossible, because everybody wants them. Chances are, if you start into a trades job, you'll get a demanding job that nobody else wants for the minimum pay that will keep you there. It will take years before you can move up into a better job, if you're lucky enough to have the opportunity. You can expect to spend 20 or 30 years in the bottom ranks before you get a really good paying trades job

This doesnt mention the entry level pay into some trades such as hvac, plumbing, and electrical. In Jersey, the average pay starting off is like $15-$16 an hour.

I’d rather be a bicycle mechanic, an art jeweler, or a barber before any of these trades — it’s not about the money for me and never will be. It’s about being happy.

The biggest error people make in life is trying too chase money because they think that’s what is finally going to make them happy. Happiness is at the present moment. If you’re not happy now and grateful for what you have now— you’ll never be happy. Ever.

Be wise about investing your time — time is precious you can never get it back.

Several thousand dollars to learn hard physical labor and destroy and age the body? No thank you.

Kudos to you who do this line of work — my hats off to you.

As a woman would it be hard to work in trade? My family tells me it’s not worth it as I won’t be respected but I doubt that as I can earn it but I really want to be a diesel tech like :/

So is trade school basically you get paid to learn about something and then work as that???

I will say, you are WAY off on crane operator. Those guys can easily make upwards of triple digits hourly. I have always heard it's a very hard trade to get into with a high barrier of entry cost wise.

I'm wondering how do you get into the industrial maintenance field with no working experience even if you got a 2 year degree in that field of study?
