I had big dog growing up as a kid. However when I had my kids we got 2 we lost our boy chihuahua at 18 years olds and we still have our girl 16 years on now I believe it has been the best thing ever. 💕🇳🇿

I would like to say I have had 4 Chihuahuas as a young child and 2 now. Petite and Chewy are the most sweet and very calm dogs . Yes they bark for a few minutes when someone come to the door, however I says is ok and they stop. They are very smart animals as they ring the bell hanging low at the door to go potty. I do have potty pads down if the weather is bad or a snow storms. They know to use them for emergency. That is nice as I don't get surprises in the house in our areas. My dogs do like sweaters for walks if needed. My vet says big time, to be very careful to have a harness on them for walks, and not a collar. This can really hurt there small throat and cause some medical issues. I had surgery just recently and they wouldn't leave my side and snuggle up to me. They were so sweet and wanted mommy to be ok. One more thing, because they are so small be careful not to over feed them. They get feed twice a day at small amounts, but at bedtime they are hooked on a handful of Cheerios . Lol we call it there night night cereal. They do love eggs in moderation too. If they have a upset stomach or throwing up, they get rice, boiled chicken and pumpkin as my vet says is great for them. This really helps they stomach. I give them this for a few days. Last Christmas my friend gave me a gift in a box, as a joke she put in in another box 2 and wrapped the box and I put it behind the back of my Christmas tree. My little dog went behind the tree, grab that box and open up both boxes. I did not know what was in it, but chewy sure did. It was chocolate non alcoholi rum, egg nog and brandy. Omg I freaked out, called the vet and ran him over to have his stomach pumped. Chocolate can be very bad and toxic and can hurt them or worse. My friends are not buying me chocolate for under the tree again. I just hope some of this many help people.
