PlayStation has debuted several new franchises in the previous generation, dominating the minds and hearts of critics and fans alike. That undoubtedly includes Guerrilla's Horizon series, which began with Zero Dawn in 2017 for the PS4. For better or worse, it's getting the remastered treatment, with Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered launching on October 31st for PS5 and PC.

Though deemed unnecessary, Guerrilla and Nixxes have put in a lot of work to improve on the original. Taking cues from the sequel, Horizon Forbidden West, the remaster includes the same accessibility options (and some new ones), overhauled foliage and environmental details, more lively environments with added NPCs, and much more.

It even features over 10 hours of additional motion capture data for overhauling animations and cutscenes. Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered will retail for $49.99 when it launches ($9.99 for owners of the original). Here are 15 things you should know before buying it.

Spending just $10 to upgrade this game and make it look like Forbidden West? Total no-brainer! Sure, maybe it didn’t need a remaster, but the work they’ve done absolutely deserves some credit (and a bit of cash)! The attention to detail they’ve put into Horizon is seriously impressive. I mean, have you seen those graphics?! I can’t wait to dive back into this world and experience it all over again, but with some extra eye candy!

Did the game need a remaster? Technically no.
But the graphic difference between ZD and FW is huge and with added extra mo-caps, for 10$ it's an easy buy for me.

The final Horizon game of this trilogy is probably releasing at the end of current gen and there might not be a huge graphic jump from Forbidden West to the third game. If that’s the case this remaster would make a lot of sense, the complete trilogy will look cohesive that way

I like the remaster. Zero Dawn with all the accessibilitys of Forbidden West is great. There were a few things I did not like in Zero dawn and with that this things are gone. Maybe I'm alone with this or have an unpolular opinion but I think refreshing Zero Dawn was kinda needed and a good choice. So the jump between Zero Dawn and Forbidden West feels more flawless.

Considering you get all this for only $10 if you already own the game, I'd say this is a pretty good deal
