If you can manage to pick one up, I highly recommend it! Check your local camera stores or shop used from BH, Amazon, Best Buy, KEH, MBP, etc!

just travelled for 2+ weeks in vietnam with a zv1, instead of all the big heavy cams and lenses ... so happy and enjoyable and managed to create 2 videos from the trip (instead of coming back home with shoulder and back pain)

Thank God its not another video by some YouTuber pushing the Fujifilm x100vi. No one is buying that camera (because they cant, not for 6 years). Thanks for the video Jason.

RX100 will always be in my best of cameras. Crazy prices used too.

I bought the RX100V second hand with its great 24-70mm F1.8-2.8 lens and 1st in the range to have phase detect autofocus with subject tracking. It also has an active ND filter. The RX100 models after went to a greater range on the lens of 24-200mm at F2.5-4.5 which seemed a bit of a compromise for low light situations.

I took this and the a7cII with 12-24 and 24-70 to Thailand. Ended up using the RX100 the most. just stuck it in the pocket where ever we walked about.

I’m still rocking the RX100VI and I love it and it stays in my everyday bag.

I love the RX100 VII, but it's amazing to think it came out five years ago and they seem to have forgotten about both it and the RX10 series. It's also hard to get hold of new in some regions including the UK. But yes I agree, when my back started hurting - actually it was my knees in my case - I downsized to the RX100 VII and made a video all about travelling light. I ended up trading the zoom for the fixed lens and bigger sensor of the X100V for my travels, but I'm very happy with either.

Agree with you. This little camera is still literally the best and more versatile capable compact camera out there

Bought it couple of weeks ago, and it's a beast in a tiny body.

I get that cell phones are popular for photography, but i will never understand why Sony abandoned the RX line of cameras just when they were getting so brilliant. I cant imagine how even more incredible they'd be with 2024 tech. All a Mark 8 needs is 4k 60p, better stabilization, and better low light processing.

got one recently and took it out to a fun little place in Houston. I’m a sony a6500, 24mm f2.8 pancake edc dude but the size was so dramatically different from that setup that I fell in love instatly

I used to use the RX100 Version 1 (10 Years Ago) - a great camera. The merged exposures in one jpeg file on low setting created some great night photos.

My back was killing me for years from shooting weddings with two Canon 1Dx Mark II bodies. Two weeks ago, i bought two Sony cameras and oh my God!! They're so light!!

I am using the RX100 in addition to my Nikon fullframe system, mostly for travelling.
I own the model 5A and 7. I take both of them with me, because of the different lenses.
The M5A for low light because of its 1.8 aperture and the M7 for outdoor, or whenever I need the 200 mm tele lens. I am well aware of the restrictions that comes from the 1” sensor, but I am very happy with them as travel companions.

I have an RX III and still rocks. Is only a 24-70 equivalent lens but still, the camera can take great pictures when I do not want to move around 1 full backpack with gear.

I've owned a RX100 since they were first released. I currently own the RX100 vii. It's my pocket camera.

I think I bought the last available mark vii in Australia, about 4 years ago. It was my first camera and my criteria included the EVF and the pocketability. I took it on holiday recently and it's still awesome. I now have the a6700 as I am learning more about taking better pics. Your review a few years ago was part of my research!

This is a camera that I've really enjoyed using.
I most recently used it on a trip that involved a lot of museums and outdoor streetscapes.
For nature shots I use another camera (FF) with a longer lens.

I don't shoot video.

I enjoy using cameras, not a phone, for my photography. This is a good compromise for times when you really want to use a camera but don't want to carry one

Got one last year 2023 as my skiing camera - just perfect! Fits in slim ski jacket pocket unobtrusively, fast into action with the pop-up view finder and great IQ.
