Range Rover Sport SUV 2005 - 2013 review - CarBuyer

The Range Rover Sport is more modern and easier to manoeuvre than the Range Rover proper - and is nearly as good off-road. It has a wonderfully designed, beautifully finished interior, loads of space and an enormous boot. For keen drivers, there's the brutally fast and fuel guzzling 5.0-litre Supercharged version. If money really is no object, go for that one. For the rest of us, the 3.0-litre diesel is still brilliant, and at least 50 per cent more economical.

Hi Mat here. I understand your comments about the off-roading shots being a bit tame. Unfortunately, where we film that's all we have access to off-roading wise. I have tried the RR Sport on much more serious terrain before so can comment on its ability. And while we could film at a more extreme location that would take a lot more time and money which would mean we wouldn't be able to film as many videos for as we currently do. We think you'd prefer more vids than a few 'proper' off-road shots.

Probably one of the most reliable models in the Range Rover line up! Still going strong after 40K miles on the odometer! Make sure you have a warranty and if you don’t get rid of it!

Nothing compares to driving a RR, they are brilliant, doesn't matter how newer or faster a car is because you just feel like your in a tank. BUT you better have a few grand put away if you own one of these because when things do go wrong, believe me they are not cheap. If a turbo needs to be replaced your pretty much f***ed.

The camera system is awesome. Multiple views. Very nice touch. Too bad the repair record sucks big time. I'd jump on this on a second if the reputation was stronger.

The 2012 model year Range Rover Sport was released around the time of the '11 / '61 plate change. Either that, or it is on a private plate. The 8 speed gear box with the rotary selector and the new tailgate system were introduced for the 2012 model year.

Range rovers only have poor reliability because people dont know how to look after them. My P38 Range Rover did over 300, 000KM and never missed a beat, most reliable vehicle i have owned. Now gone to a sport 3.6 TDV8 and its amazing, and very cheap to run.
