I flew to NYC and I gave the flight attendants candy and sheet masks when I boarded the plane, and they treated me like a queen because no one ever thinks of them. EVER. They deal with such awful people.

Seniority matters in basically every job... but definitely in career worthy jobs

I have a friend who has been a flight attendant for a major airline for over twenty years. Now she only flies long haul to Europe (the highest paying flights because flight crew is only paid for time in the air), only when she feels like working, and her whole family flies free all over the world as much as they want. I guess she paid her dues and has that seniority now.

Seniority is the way most companies give vacation, overtime, crap shifts ect.

Everyone is different. Had a friend who worked for Delta. Yes, it was tiring at times, but she enjoyed it.

You get great travel perks...it beats sitting in an office all day

Many years ago I was in the Air Force Reserve in Aeromedical Evacuation...we transported DOD sick and injured...and sometimes their families. We had the old C-141 which was the safest aircraft in the sky. Once I had a 23 hour day. I was initially enlisted which meant we carried patients onto the plane on litters...then got my degree and was a Flight Nurse. It was hard at times but I loved it. Retired after Desert Storm.
Yes, it is a difficult job but has many benefits! God bless America. ❤

Seniority in life matters no matter what you are doing.

She’s right, being a FA is not easy but that’s why is not for everyone, I still get pay to see the world and bring great and sad stories home, I love my job, I love the flexibility after feel yers, I love the opportunity for me and my family, and like any other job is definitely not easy but I can’t handle a 8 to 5pm job, have to deal with so much BS, phones calls, meeting… as FA I can work wen I want, how many hr I want… but, as long you can found joy in what you do that’s the right job for you no matter what just do what makes you happy ❤

As a flight attendant, a lot of it depends on your personal life, work-life balance, health. Yes, seniority rules, you pay your dues, you deal with bullying from senior people, you deal with corporate. You’re just a number to the company, because they need to run a business. We’re primarily there for safety. My training never had a day where service was taught.
Also, depends where you’re based, if it’s junior or not. I have what’s called a line, not in reserve (on call). I only have to work 40 hours a month. We can drop, trade, and change our schedules based on needs.
For instance, this month I only work 8 days. That’s it.

The fact that you dissed on the training….how to save lives, speaks volumes.

My daughter was working for Frontier for a year when she was offered a job with Delta. She turned it down because of the seniority. She knew it would probably be years before she could pick her home base (Orlando) and she would probably be in the Midwest. Happy to say she’s in Orlando which is only 30 minutes from me and the rest of the family!

Ill take seniority over politics any day of the week.

I used to fly for 12 years. It's either a young persons game or a job for life for some

The only time seniority really sucks is when nobody retires, quites, or gets fired and youre stuck at the bottom for the rest of eternity

Poor baby yes seniority run everything. It is a union run job. My sister is a flight attendant. She went through it. She now 27 years. So she gets more of what she wants. Sounds like she expected to have a simple life.

Everything she described men do every day for 35 to 40 years.
