I had the privilege of visiting the assembly line of the F-22 years ago. It's an amazing piece of kit and I'm glad we don't sell 'em. We see them flying around every once in a while. The place where these were built also won the C-130 maintenance contract a number of years ago, too. We see a lot of those flying here as well.

I love how we’re the only country with two back-to-back generations of ASFs that can just pitch vertical right after takeoff and ignore most of the principles of conventional flight.

I never understand why the viewing area isn't at the point the pilot pulls up. Be able to watch the plane fly directly away from you straight up.

I've seen them tail stand right off the deck at their final assembly plant in Marietta GA. Way, way louder than the vid shows. Stunning aircraft- my all-time fave.

When i think about what the greatest invention of mankind was the microchip is my first thought but when i think about the coolest invention is, it’s gotta be the fighter jet. If you’ve never been to an air show just go, its insane what man can build. Its mind blowing. Hopefully i’ll see an f22 one day but living in the uk im not sure….

It literally takes off and goes vertical.
F22 is good though.

Looks slow, I thought max performance was they pull up at like 450KTS or something like those F-16 videos. He didn't seem to be going more than 300KTS here
