UCLA is not on this list even though they have more students in med school than any other in the country. Hopkins may be the #1 premed school but for many students, you would be much better off at somewhere like Brown or Dartmouth or other lesser known private and public colleges without the cutthroat environment and high acceptance rates into med school.

This makes me so much more confident in my decision! I received a full tuition scholarship to Hopkins and accepted it but I was kind of worried I was making a mistake by not taking offers from Yale or Princeton instead (they would have cost way more :( tho)

All these schools are certainly prestigious; 5 of the 8 Ivy League are included. There are underrated colleges with a strong premed curriculum - hence very high acceptance rates into medical school. These include Xavier University of New Orleans, College of Idaho in Caldwell, Carleton College in Northfield, MN., and College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, VA.
