Aillio Bullet R1 Roaster Overview

Tom gives an in-depth overview of what to expect when starting to use your Aillio Bullet R1. It's an awesome machine that roasts up to 1KG (2.2lbs). Automatic drum pre-heating, adjustable heat and fan speed, and continuous real-time feedback provided by infrared bean and drum temperature probes combine to allow for precise, consistent roasting. Details of each roast can be digitally recorded and saved as roast profiles that can then be replayed or shared between roasters. Easy to clean and maintain.

The Bullet in this video is version 1/1.5. There are minor differences between this and the current model. Please refer to our website for up-to-date info on the Aillio Bullet.

Appreciate the review and, more importantly, the recommendations and sage advice. I'm prepping for buying one in hopes I am able to pull the trigger before they're all sold....hoping they arrive soon! One thing that I would like to see is the roast time software, roasting a small batch, and other recommendations you might have with the process itself.

So glad you got a clip-on microphone. Some of us Old Roasters are deaf and have trouble hearing you. Wish you would use it on all your videos.

This is a good video if for no other reason that it gives a good idea of the size of this roaster. Relative size is a good technique in photography. Personally, I use a Cormorant gas roaster, but I have been looking at this as an electric roaster alternative.

FYI the manual has instructions for switching to °F from °C on the Bullet interface.

Well to begin I can't connect to my 220 with either of the two cables they provided. So I guess wither I will cut the end off of one and attach a male that does fit my outlet or see if I can get an adapter to fit on the end of the cable I pick to use. Yes the weighted handle has fallen off once already. But good to know not to screw it in too far. I really think they should position the screen to where it is not hit by this handle. But i have only had the machine for a couple of hrs., so who am I to say

Does this produce a lot of smoke when you go medium to medium-dark? Would you be able to use this indoors in a kitchen? If you use it on your balcony, would it disturb the neighbours?

I've used a Hottop for many, many years and recently purchased the 2k+.  It's working quite well for me with the Artisan software.  Getting great results.  Luckily I'm not in need of the capacity of the Bullet, nor doing back to back roasting, but was wondering what other benefits you have found with this roaster.  Does the heating apparatus work better than the Hottop coils?  Seems it would benefit a stirrer in the cooling tray.  And I'm guessing there's more or more frequent maintenance required for the Bullet.

Guess what I'm asking for myself and others is whether you or other members of the community might put together some sort of matrix chart comparing the key features of say the Bullet, Hottop and now Behmor given that these all have software support.

What's wrong with Celsius/Centigrade? It's what everyone uses, right?

Can anyone do a comparison between the bullet and the hottop roasters (esp hottop's 1 kg roaster)? Notably, similarities and differences in their operation, and pros/cons of each. I'm looking for an electric 1kg roaster, and they are the top 2 I'm considering.

A 300g home version to compete with Hottop would be lovely. I'd wager real money this is too big for most people.

Hard to listen to...did you read the instructions FIRST or after you made the mistakes?

When you pay that much, and you don’t get a manual. What a cheap ass company!

If I was going to go so far as to get a hottop I can't see why I wouldn't just go whole bleeping hog and get a big boy roaster like this. in for a dime in for a dollar. so either go gene cafe or learn on one of those and then climb to the top of the cliff rocks and dive in to this !!! lol. I'm keeping my swimmies on and clinging to my paddle board in the wading pool with the other 50 year olds.

Virtually incoherent babble. Perhaps he should record this again when his faculties are intact.
