Fix DOCX, RTF or # Word File is automatically deleted.
Microsoft officially confirmed that WORD Files having extensions in capital letter such as DOCX, RTF and # are automatically deleted due to a bug. The issue occurs in Microsoft Office version 2409. Thankfully this can be fixed. Follow the workaround.
Method-1: Restore from Recycle bin
If the Word file or files are deleted, go recycle bin and manually restore it.
Method-2: Manually save document before closing
If you manually save the Word files they will no longer be deleted. The deletion is found in when clicking on X or cancel to close the doc.
Method-3: Enable Don’t show the Backstage when opening or saving files with keyboard shortcuts
• Go to File – Options – Save.
• Check the box for Don’t show the Backstage when opening or saving files with keyboard shortcuts.
• Click on OK.
