there is a bit of a plot hole here. Palpatine's term has expired by the time of Episode 2, the Senate just asked him to stay and deal with the Separatist Crisis. Without the Crisis being a big thing Palpatine couldn't have stayed in power.

The biggest mistake with this what if is Padmé would never shoot an unarmed prisoner. Stun him as he runs away sure but she’d never attack an unarmed sentient with intent to kill. Even after all the suffering he caused her people Padmé would uphold the letter of the law and wait for the Republic Senate to deal with Nut Gunray as she did in the true events of the story.

Dude you gotta eventually write parts 2&3 sometime. This story is so entertaining that it needs to be properly completed. Padme and anakin could maybe start to court one another eventually getting married. The jedi order could perhaps move their temple and the entire jedi archives off of the capital planet of the galactic empire to the planet of tython. It could be discovered that padme is part dathomerian nightsister and mildly force senstive until she's pregnant with the skywalker twins permanently boosting her midichlorian count to around obi-wan kanobi's midichlorian count even after giving birth. What if anakin was piloting before attack of the clones and sensed ventress fall to the darkside as her master died and took his ship to the planet to investigate. Perhaps starting a romance as they are very similar in their stories.
Also what if ahsoka taught ben skywalker as she saw him as history repeating itself.
