Wouldn't it make sense for someone as cunning as Palpatine to cover their tracks? What, does he not know how the mafia works, with a buffer of command meant to keep the don at the top clean?

Besides, he's wrong when he says that Palpatine wanted Padme dead- it was Nute Gunray who wanted her dead as an act of revenge.

So the levels of espionage aren't as complex as he makes them out to be: Gunray to Dooku, to Jango, to Zam. The tracks are covered.

Would Jango have told Zev everything or just enough to kill Padme? The most Zev could have told the Jedi is who gave her the job, but she is killed before she gives up the name. THEN Jango blasts off giving the Jedi enough time to see him, and a clue on where he came from with the dart he used to kill Zev. Jango should have just killed Padme.
