Should Christians celebrate Juneteenth?

Transcript:
Here's our question for the day. Should Christians celebrate Juneteenth? And the quick answer to that question is yes, but why? Juneteenth is all about the emancipation of the slaves in the deep South during the Civil War. Abraham Lincoln gave the Emancipation Proclamation on this date (January 1, 1863), but the people in Texas didn't hear about the Emancipation Proclamation until (June 19, 1865), and this is why we celebrate Juneteenth on June 19th.

Now the first people to celebrate it were church people. Why? Because it matches our message. In Exodus, the slaves were set free. In the gospel, people are set free from sin. So we celebrate every time people are set free in a big way. This happened on June 19th and we've celebrated for a long time. We celebrate it to this day.
