This Spongebob Episode Was The Darkest Of Them All
The episode "Dying for Pie" was dark and I don't remember it being this dark when I was younger.

The shows description On Employee Brotherhood Day, Squidward thinks that he gave SpongeBob an explosive pie to eat and decides to spend time with SpongeBob while he is still alive in attempt to make his last day memorable. He does a bunch of nonsensical activities with SpongeBob only to realize when the day is over that SpongeBob never ate the pie, but reveals to Squidward that he was saving it so they can share it. SpongeBob trips and accidentally drops the pie on Squidward

I saw this episode and I thought it was a normal episode, but now looking back, it’s very dark and very sad.

The sunset scene is easily the best scene in SpongeBob, when it comes to emotion. Squidward and SpongeBob sit in front of the sunset, with Squidward knowing exactly what's going to happen once it goes down. Yet, instead of ruining his (possibly) final moments with SpongeBob by telling him, he simply plays along and watches the sunset with SpongeBob. It's such an emotional scene and I cannot imagine how people reacted to it when the episode first aired.

I thought this episode was made for fun like every other episode, but it turned out to be a sad episode, which kept turning darker and darker, and first time watching it, i thought spongebob was actually gonna explode, thankfully i was wrong 😅
