Now Triumph should bring "Daytona 975" to have a strong competition against R9.

OUTSTANDING!!!! The week after I bought my MT-09 2015 model, I said to mates of mine that Yamaha need to make this into a street/race bike! Its only taken 9 years!! LOVE IT!!! Well done Yamaha, well done. Now Yamaha, we need a Tenere 900!!!

I thought they would try to squeeze a bit more power out of this. I'll just keep my XSR 900

I don't love the winglets, but apart from the styling, this is exactly what an R9 should be: the CP3 engine, but finally in a completely unconpromised supersport chassis with supersport-class brakes and suspension. People complaining about the power have either never ridden the CP3 or are simply too focused on numbers. It has the same power as the R6, which it is intended to replace. Plus a boatload more torque. I have no idea what people are complaining about. Trust me, unless you're literally a professional racer, this engine is capable of more than you are.

And for those complaining about the price, it's $2000 more than a base MT09. For that you get an entirely new chassis, much better suspension, stylema calipers, 320mm discs, steel lines, switchable ABS, a bunch more electronics and oh yeah, full fairings. Again, I have no idea what y'all are complaining about.

Now, Yamaha need to put their CP4 engine in a Tracer. Damn who would not want that engine's smoothness and sound on a sport touring bike.

It blows my minds how much flack this bike is catching. I truly cannot understand how many “enthusiasts” can find any little reason not to like this bike. Eveyone has an opinion but as someone that started on a grom and ninja 400, this is an amazing sport bike. The 900cc triple is tried and true and the fully adjustable suspension, sweep of electronics, and new frame should all make this an amazing sport bike. This bike quite literally looks just an r1. It’s splitting hairs

Holy moly that exhaust looks like it weighs 42lbs. However, I am excited for the possibilities for success that this will bring. MotoAmerica, here it comes!

Just to bad they cancelled R1 and R6, I don't think this is true replacement for R6.
Great video

Another thing to point out is the R9 final drive has been geared down to 41 from 43 in the MT09 to give it a bit more top speed. It’ll probably be quite comparable to most 600’s top speed wise. It’s also going to accelerate a hair quicker due to more torque everywhere vs a 600… I’d be curious to see a last gen road legal R6 go head to head with this in some acceleration tests…

Disappointed by the looks. They really need to bin that exhaust design.
Wondering why it didn't get the keyless from the MT09SP?!

Its amazing how many people only race their bikes and dont ride them on the road given the comments on this bike🤔

Nice one Bob. Thank you. This is arguably the most anticipated bike in any category, period!

You missed the White and red color variant :D I was waiting for this bike, that's why I didn't buy the R7 but now that it's unveiled....I think I'll go for some other with better looks

Not sure if the looks are good or not...
I really wish those winglets were optional... Or just removable at least...🤔

Honestly imo CBR600RR and ZX6R are nicer looking

Whenever people talk about the r6 why do they act like the fact that you had to rev that bike to get the most out of it was a burden. That's literally the fun part of the bike, what makes it unique, and why it so sought after. I get it its hard to make a bike that behaves at an extreme also meet all these lame emission requirements. But don't get it twisted, it is not a burden and rather a visceral experience that never gets boring. So glad I can own an R6 and I hope to make it last as long as possible, never a day goes by where I am bored or unamused by this bike and I ride it daily. No this bike will not replace the r6, literally no Yamaha will replace it unless they drop a new line that will also rev to 17k rpms

i'm not the fan of the wiglets in the r9 ngl, looks kinda dorky imo

The gap between the engine and frame? Could get a weeks shopping in there! Fairing looks unfinished, needs to be lower and covering up the exhaust and level. Rear disc looks like the hub of an angle grinder. It's like they gave up at the 80% design mark. Of course it will ride and handle superbly and no one can question how good the CP3 engine.

People who love the triple sound will love this, I currently own a MT09 SP 23” but considering trading it in for this or maybe just getting the new R1 2025
