The Fallacy Fallacy problem - Refuting iilluminaughtii

The internet has a problem with a lot of intellectually lazy and poorly researched takes that will attack a bad argument for X as evidence that X is wrong. This video goes over just one of many examples, focusing on iilluminaughtii's video on "The Woke Mind Virus" or "The "Woke" Joke: What the Right is Really Doing", and how it fails to even scratch the surface of what wokeness means due to it opting to just go for low hanging fruit.

Great video, dude. Another great example of the Fallacy Fallacy is Az from HeelvsBabyface's recent Starfield controversy. While Az did overeact to the pronouns, the stuff he said in his rant was fairly accurate, about how a ton of obnoxious modern politics are being shoved into everything in order to virtue signal. But a ton of people said "Oh, Az is ranting and he's talking about pronouns, therefore everything he's saying is invalid, and we can just laugh at him."

I love James Lindsay's definition of woke, which is Maoism with American qualities. It gives an immediate comparison that people aware of 20th century China will understand. Normies will just know "Oh, that sounds bad, 20th century China is scary", and more knowledgeable people will immediately draw parallels with the college-educated rainbow guard and the red guard, our new-age corporate struggle sessions, maybe parallels between Mao's 'to not have a correct political opinion is to not have a soul' and 'silence is violence'. It's functional at all levels.

I have a friend thats like this, he likes to handwave anything I point out as a slippery slope fallacy or a logical fallacy. And yes he's a Reddit Socialist.
