Line 6 Helix vs Boss GT8 (Chorus Test)

A quick chorus test between Line 6 helix lt and Boss GT8. Both pedals have amp simulations turned off. I love the chorus effect!

Gt 8 all day still use it in 4 cable method on all live gigs ... so organic and warm when compared to new equipment today...

Wow, the old Boss sounds great in this example, like it much better than the Helix, Boss always were a master of the chorus effect . I actually still use my old Boss GT-pro which is the rack version of the GT-8 and it still sounds good using poweramp and guitar cab, the speaker emulation is poor though. Nice playing !

nice comparison. can u compare between gt n helix high gain amps? i know the gt8 is the old technology than helix but who knows how to do best tweaking on gt.

Been fiddling with my Helix for years now but only gigged it once as never quite feels right to me. Dug out my GT-8 yesterday as need to take some kind of backup in case my amp fails. Pugged it into a PA speaker….. it just sounds more……. Erm …. Direct. Makes me think there is just such an enormous amount of processing going on in a Helix and possibly that leads to more latency….. or something. Anyway, GT-8 currently being programmed with some essential patches then it, ’s in the van as a backup. I bet one day people will be hunting these things down like they do vintage AC30s and Plexis. GT-8 also quite a bit lighter.

Между этими девайсами как минимум 10 лет. И Босс звучит тоже не плохо. А если сравнивать одноклассники, то надо было брать GT-100.

Non si fa così il suono sulla Gt8, si usa il chorus stereo e il 2x2 chorus.
Boss si mangia Helix...

The Boss is cleaner. I always think the Helix reverbs and delays muddy the sound. I currently use a Helix LT. I've used BOSS and ROLAND gear for many years too.
