Stephen Colbert took over as host of The Late Show on Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2015. Colbert is best known for his work as a television host, writer, actor, and producer, and best known for his charity work teaching English as a second language on Tunisian date farms. Prior to joining the CBS family -- and being officially adopted by network president Les Moonves -- Colbert helmed “The Colbert Report,” which aired nearly 1,500 episodes and required Stephen to wear nearly 1,500 different neckties. The program received two Peabody Awards, two Grammy Awards, and several unwelcome shoulder massages. It won two Emmys for Outstanding Variety Series in 2013 and 2014, both of which appear to have been lost in the move. Colbert is pronounced koʊlˈbɛər, according to Wikipedia. His understudy is William Cavanaugh, who will be hosting The Late Show approximately one third of the time. Good luck, Bill!"

THIS Stephen. This is why people like your show. While it's unfortunate that we currently need Donors Choose and generous people in order for our schools to succeed, it's a real solution to a real problem and it's being spotlighted on your show. I'm a long time Tim Ferriss reader and now podcast listener, and the people he interviews are truly making differences in the world for the better, and to me are the real superheroes of today.

This has me as misty-eyed as the most hardcore finale episode of Extreme Home Makeover. It's bittersweet to see our nation's teachers reduced to crowd funding for needed supplies and equipment, but man it sure is nice to see them get it. So major kudos to Stephen & Friends for stepping up! Their generosity has inspired me to go fund a project or two myself, and I hope that many others will do the same.

As an educator whos project was funded last year I still get emotional about this day. As I watched this video I am reminded about how many wonderful individuals are out there who understand the struggles of educators across our great country. We give of ourselves daily often taking money from our own budgets to fund projects we believe will make our student's better learners. Thank you so much for The Best School Day. It indeed was and continues to be as we pull out our materials that were funded last year. Thank you for caring about education and our children.

The schools are publicly funded. Donors don't keep the schools open and operating, tax dollars do. It is true that over the years many programs have been cut from schools, but the schools still operate. I see this as much needed bolstering. Really just a stop gap measure. Is it wrong to stem the bleeding while we wait to get to the hospital? #FeelTheBern
