three weeks in a carry-on | packing for greece

In spring 2019, I took a three-week trip to Greece. I fit everything I needed for those 21 days inside a regular sized AWAY carry-on suitcase and a personal bag. In this video, I'll show you what I packed for that trip and the way that I packed it in order to get the most out of my carry-on space. Keep in mind this is just what worked for ME, but I share it because it might help you too. :)

I value carry-on only travel because of the convenience it provides-- getting out of the airport quickly/not having to wait at baggage claim, having all my items with me at all times, and the simplicity that comes with only having to travel and move around with a small carry-on, rather than a big (checked) bag.

If you are comfortable re-wearing clothes and/or can buy laundry detergent once you get to your destination, it's easy to pack for any length trip in a carry-on.

HOW WERE YOU ABLE TO TRAVEL WITH SO MANY LIQUIDS?
I didn't think I had so many liquids. I understand that many times you're only allowed to bring as many liquids that can fit into a quart-sized bag; however, I was living in Yangon, Myanmar at the time and thus flying through Yangon International Airport and Athens and had no issues getting through security at either airports with the amount of liquids I packed. Perhaps they're just more lax with the liquids at these airports. All my liquids were under the 3 oz carry-on limit though. If you're concerned about the amount of liquids you can pack and travel with in your carry, you can always buy them (shampoo, conditioner, sunscreen, etc.) once you arrive at your destination.

Very helpful! Only one more thing I recommend including: a pair of flip-flops. That way, there's no need to worry about yucky showers and they can be used for slippers, as well.

If you take a laptop, tablet or any electronic device bigger than a cell phone keep it out of the bag till you get through security. They make you take it out. Found out that on my trip to scotland. Also keep all liquids separate and in a clear bag you have to take those out too at some airports.

I'm only traveling for 6 days and I packed so much to have options with outfits based on my moods and how comfortable i feel. Packed like this and it wasnt even hard to close the suitcase, haven't packed the extra shoes on the bag either. saves a lot of space with this method, def love it

i learned to use packing cubes but till putting some more clothes in those spaces in between the bars to use up allll the space while being extra organized

That's awesome! We traveled throughout Europe for 7 weeks with just a carry on and it was plenty. But coming back home, we had to buy and extra bag to bring the things we bought along the way.

I like to watch this type of video before I pack my own luggage. I usually bring less clothes to let me space for the ones I will buy (at least when I go somewhere I know I will buy clothes as London).
