One thing I love about this scene is the way the dialogue applies so well not just to this scene but the movie as a whole.

“He can be the outcost. He can make the choice that no one else can. The right choice.”

In a literal sense meaning that he shouldn’t give himself up because Batman having a bad reputation doesn’t effect anyone. Yes, Bruce ignores that advice in this instance but then at the end of the movie, it clicks. And that’s how he’s able to come to the decision to take the fall for Dent’s actions which is why to me, this and “you either die a hero…” are such good bits of dialogue because beyond just sounding cool, they very subtly and effectively represent the themes of this amazing movie.

Whenever I'm feeling emotionally disappointed and discouraged, I watch this video. Like one time when I saw this girl named Kathryn that I met online, I was hoping that she and I would develop a relationship but she explicitly said that she wants to be friends and nothing else. And I was feeling emotionally upset.
