In this Lecture, I will discuss the early Conquests and Colonization of America by the Conquistadors that ruthlessly invaded the New World after the discoveries of Christopher Columbus. These were tough, brutal men that were seeking fame, fortune and lands to conquer. They were men such as Hernan Cortes, Francisco Pizarro, Francisco de Coronado and Juan Ponce de Leon. They were also explorers discovering new lands which would be eventually colonized by the Europeans. However, with devastating effects on the Native American populations.

In this Lecture I discussed the rise of the Conquistadors and how they began the initial conquest of the Americas. I covered the most famous Conquistadors: Juan Ponce de Leon, Vasco de Balboa, Panfilo de Narvaez (and Cabeza de Vaca), Hernando de Soto, Francisco de Coronado, Hernan Cortes and Francisco Pizarro.
