The Conquest of America [Part 1] - World History Lecture Series

In this Two-Part Lecture Series, I will discuss the Conquests and Colonization of America by the Conquistadors that ruthlessly invaded the New World in the 16th Century after the discoveries of Christopher Columbus. These were tough, brutal men that sought fame, fortune and lands to conquer. This included famous conquistadors such as Hernan Cortes, Francisco Pizarro, Francisco de Coronado and Juan Ponce de Leon. They were also the first Europeans to explore the interior of the Americas and spearhead its colonization. However, their exploits devastated the Native American populations of the Americas and altered history forever.
This Lecture includes a short video entitled "Ask History - Is There Really a Fountain of Youth?" originally from the History channel about the legend of the Fountain of Youth later associated with Juan Ponce de Leon.
