Hey guys, I'm Alastair from Trail and Kale, and this is my Adidas Ultraboost 5X review.

These are max-cushioned daily trainers designed for comfort, stability, and versatility. They're perfect for runners who need extra support, especially if you have overpronation issues, and they work just as well for everyday wear, walking, or standing all day. I’ll be diving into their performance as a running shoe and discussing whether they’re worth the $180 price tag.

Select colors on sale for 135 bucks on Adidas website atm. I’m a huge UB-1 fan for strictly casual wear but I just ordered a pair of these and looks like I’ll definitely get my money’s worth since they are also runnable.

Thanks A-dawg

Hey! Than you for your review.
Since I have some background with knee issues, and I’ve started a 2 month preparation for an half marathon, I currently use some old ultraboost but they are a bit old, and I’m thinking about buying those new ultraboost 5x or the Boston 12?
I plan to do the half marathon below 2h but I also don’t wanna hurt too much my knees.
Any recommendations considering the adidas fleet?
Thank you!

Nice review will be watching some other of your reviews after.

I haven’t ran in a while, so I currently run in an ultraboost (v3 knit) and a vaporfly 4% flyknit… decided to make a goal to try a marathon this year and out of two I would probably choose the ultraboost for the primeknit (trying to avoid injuries from a rough upper + wide feet). I heard the ultraboost 5/5x has thicker boost stack than before in forefoot and is a bit lighter..so since I am still a casual runner I think I might get one for the marathon if I dont find a real runner I like… atm I am thinking of Hokka Skyward X or Adidas Prime x Strung 2… both are a bit heavier but I figure I am not a light runner so maybe more cushion would still be best.

If you see this I would appreciate any recommendations for a nice upper + cushion combo for a wide foot, forefoot striker, and heavier build

Keep up the great videos!

10mm drop a little too much? Totally agree. 1-2mm less at the heel and 1-2mm more mid to toe would have made this a more versatile shoe.

What do you guys think is better? I am looking for a daily shoe that I can run occasionally, be on my feet all day at work, do light activities in, and still not have a sore feet. I have been wearing ultraboosts. Should I upgrade to the 5x? Go for NewBalance 1080v13 or the NewBalance FuelCell Rebel V4?

I am aware the the 1080v13 is really plush and comfy but in the past with I believe the 1080v12s I had an issue where my feet started to hurt after couple hours in it. Any suggestions? Would you still recommend me the 5x?
