Sharp sure is making a comeback. My first TV was a Sharp so I've always had a soft spot for them. My phone is the Sharp AQUOS Crystal and it's great, also great looking and the screen is top notch.

question I just purchased a Sharp 75in how do you enable 4K or does it automatically cut on when you turn the TV on. I also like the UHD ??

the yellow subpixel doesn't do much

The only problem with Sharp's “Quattron technology” is that it does not abide by the industry standard which is sRGB. Since film makers, broadcasters, and even websites do not account for this extra yellow sub pixel it makes no difference, in fact it makes the picture worse and makes the resolution less dense. It's simply a marketing gimmick the sales team at your local best buy can spit out at you.

I don't think that adding a fourth color channel means having a higher total number of pixels. The TV is still 4K, but has a YRGB subpixel scheme instead of the standard RGB. Also, I've heard having the yellow channel doesn't improve color reproduction that much.

U see, there is a reason that we only had rgb for many years. Our retina only has rgb. Specially yellow is useless because, our eyes can't distinguish as much as other colors. If they put extra deep blue pixel that would been better.
