One of the best beginner guides! Must see for new HA users.

It's great to see a basic guide using the newer HA platform. I've just started diving into HA after developing greenhouse controls, etc. using ArduinoIDE, MQTT, Node RED and Grafana, and was finding Home Assistant a bit overwhelming with so many new concepts. Finding guides based on the "old" (earlier this year) way of doing things made things even more confusing. This guide answered several of my questions in a concise, logical manner. I look forward to checking out more of your content. Thanks

Regarding the YAML. I think I'm the early stages, it's worth configuring your buttons and entities with the visual editor, but taking a look at the YAML, seeing how it is set out, and what effect changes you make in visual editor have on the YAML. Over time you will pick up basic things about the YAML, and may be able to make small changes yourself, and later if you are feeling confident enough to learn the YAML properly, it will be a bit less overwhelming.

Thanks! I'm considering switching to Home Assistant eventually, and even though I've watched a few basic how-to guides, it can look a bit intimidating. Your video was very accessible! :)

Great video ! I'd love to see more videos for automations examples! It's been 2 weeks iv been using ha. And I set up already 65 automations and I just want to see how smarter can I make my house. I'm running out of ideas....my favorite automation is still the one that sets my phone android alarm to a value that I choose. Very useful automation if you don't work every Monday of every week for eg

stil we have april and I don't know how to make some cheap BT speaker works as my offline private voice assistant like rhasspy, there is no cheap stuff like 20$ amazon/google speakers
