High-return strategies for stock and fund investors | How to use momentum investing

There are many styles of investing, such as growth investing, value investing, dividend investing and so on. These have a wide acceptance in investment circles. But momentum is often not considered a mainstream investment strategy; it’s considered more of a trading tool. However, momentum investing has frequently proved to be rewarding. For instance, over the last one year as of May 7, 2024, the Nifty200 Momentum 30 Index has returned about 65%. That’s even higher than mid- and small-cap index returns of 54% and 62%, respectively. So, we decided to dig deep into this investment approach.

This is not our first video on momentum. We did one over 3 years ago. This video builds upon our earlier video and also explores the new developments in this area since then. This video has 3 parts. In the first part, we compare the momentum strategy with the buy-and-hold approach. In the second part, we explore the momentum investing options for fund investors. And in the third part, we talk about how stock investors can pick momentum stocks. You can watch the video for our findings and momentum strategies.
