This was weird Mr. Ghomeshi usually gives more interesting interviews, maybe he was not so well prepared. I left feeling like I didn't learn much about Mr. Stone.

Conversate is a nonstandard verb.
Wich probably makes some Brits choke on their Lapsang !
But languages are constantly changing, so you might as well get used to it. 😉
It's widely used in other languages.
