The film stars Reece Shearsmith (League of Gentlemen, Inside No 9, The Widower and ITV drama Chasing Shadows), Jonathan Rigby (Kenneth Horne in BBC production ‘Round the Horne Revisited’, Horror Historian, author of English Gothic), Richard Strange (Batman, Inkheart, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows), Claire Louise Amias (Provoked, Telling Lies, Women of Twilight), Steve Furst (Little Britain, Legend of Dick and Dom, Father Brown, Toast of London), Sabrina Dickens (Night of the Living Dead Resurrection, Silent Night Deadly Night) and Sara Dee (Sightseers, A Field In England, Highrise). The film’s narration has been performed by Julian Sands (Room with a View, Warlock, Gothic, Smallville, Gotham, Girl with the Dragon Tattoo).

'Borley Rectory' is an animated documentary chronicling what came to be known as 'The most haunted house in England'. The legends attached to the rectory at Borley and famed paranormal investigator Harry Price's subsequent investigations of them, caught the public's imagination during the late 20's in time becoming one of the world's most notorious ghost stories influencing Shirley Jackson’s ‘Haunting of Hill House’ and Richard Matheson’s ‘Hell House’.

Just finished the movie. This is by far the most visually stunning movie I’ve ever seen. Every frame of this film feels like time traveling to a very scary location, where you’re half covering your eyes, almost afraid to watch. I never expected to see a more beautifully filmed ghost story than Guillermo del Toro’s brilliant “Crimson Peak”, but this is it. If you love a good ghost story and brilliant filmmaking, you need to watch this. And I haven’t even started on all of the extras. To the filmmakers, thank you so much for this treasure. If you make this streaming, I’d like to purchase another copy so I can spread the word with a touch of a button.

Was fascinated with Borley Rectory in my teens. Loved reading about it in The Unexplained and Readers Digest Mystery books. Truly at one time the best known haunted house in the world.

My Great Grandad replied to an advert in a newspaper and went along as a sceptic to help research the goings on at Borley Rectory. He was struck in the face by a hair brish when descending the staircase on his first day, which required stitches.He appears in Harry Price's "A Century of Poltergeists book'. Look forward to seeing more on this.

Loved this film. Fascinated by the story since a child and this was exactly what I pictured and what kept a seven year old me awake for hours!

I live not to far from Borley, although the Rectory is no longer there, you will however get the feeling of being unwelcome, if only from the local residents!
This DVD Is leaps and bounds above the other, renditions of the story of Borley Rectory.
Well worth viewing, the Great Julian Sands Narrates.

Just discovered this, and would love to buy a copy. I’m in the US, and according to Amazon it is region 2 only. Is there a version that will play in the US?

Really brilliant. I wrote a short spooky novel and it was published. I could imagine it being made using this animated realistic technique. Who knows? Borely is a great story and film.

I hope, in the near future, BORLEY RECTORY will have a theatrical release in NYC, so I can enjoy what We did on the silver screen.
