I could possibly have rabies. Our dogs decided to fight a raccoon that displayed symptoms of rabies. A few weeks or so later, our dog ran out into the road and died. They also smeared the raccoon blood all over my arms. And generally speaking, i usually had cuts on my arms. So yes, I know the fear.

It hasn't been over 5 years, so I may very well have rabies. And no, our dog wasn't vaccinated because my 'father' was an idiot and didn't find it necessary.

Oh, I read about this in the late 90's. Spent early internet days trying to determine if it had a chance of hitting the area where I grew up. Omce I realized I was in the clear, I forgot how much of a big deal it is...and stored in my memory that this might make news once day.

Reddit wasn't even a happy ending back then, let alone YT 😅.

I remember in the Eighties that most of the people who had this disease claimed to be vegetarian as well. So relax - it was one of those health scares that disappeared for a good reason

I worked as an au-pair in the UK during the mid 90s. Mad Cow was still in peoples minds. The family I lived with only ate chicken. In every shape and size. No beef or pork allowed. I still eat primarally chicken.
