After listening to this piece composed by Roman Kim for many months now, I have come to the conclusion that this is my favorite piece on the violin ever composed. Forget the Paganini and even the Sibelius, Tchaikovsky, and Mendelssohn. This is it. This is the piece that can make you feel all those different emotions in one. When Roman plays that first D in third position on the A string I know it’s going to be a whole 7 minutes and 18 seconds of emotions that I can’t even describe. I am happy that no one has transcribed this music and played it on recording because I know it would not be the same. I can’t even imagine not finding this piece because if I hadn’t I wouldn’t have been able to experience a once in a lifetime recording that soon turned into my favorite recording of all time, which I knew it would be from the start. I can’t even thank Roman Kim himself enough for composing and playing this piece on recording. Maestro Kim I believe that you are the best violinist himself no argument. Not only do you compose terribly difficult compositions and pieces and play them effortlessly, you also compose gem pieces such as this one and play it so wonderfully and terrifically amazing that I can’t even describe it enough. Thank you for becoming a violinist and getting to this stage because without you I don’t think anyone would have ever been able to experience anything like this. Thank you.

Technically speaking, he is probably the greatest violinist of our era.

I consider myself lucky to have heard this amazing violinist live many years ago in Moscow. A truly talented violinist and composer. Well done, Roman!

The fact that this is probably his easiest composition is insane

Not every day a woman has such a beautiful piece composed for her, much less played by the composer and virtuoso performer himself.

My name is Ana. And it is my birthday today. And while I was casually scrolling YouTube just a moment ago, I stumbled across this video, the name of which is literally "Valse for Ana".
Thanks youtube, I guess😆

Wonderful!! Please, Mr. Kim, don't stop composing🙏 Your works are incomparable. Paganini himself would want to play them if he were here!

Bravo. Finally, a composition by Roman Kim that could actually be played by someone other than Roman Kim.

Modern composers need more of this. More Leidenschaft, more passion and search of beauty. And modern violin virtuosos need to compose again

Romantic period might have ended in 1900, but it seems like it is starting up again. Nice piece.

Simply put, the finest violinist alive today. Roman may very well be the greatest of all time but we will never know this for sure. I look forward to whatever he performs in the future. Thank you for the beauty that you bring to an otherwise confused and troubled world.

Roman my wife and I have listened to this 500 times since you’ve posted it. The transitions to different moments give us chills (especially octaves).

Thank you!!!!

Commenting again, because this piece has real staying power. It keeps coming to my mind - not in a bad way like an earworm, but like my all-time favorite classical pieces do. I hope more people will get to hear this gem!
Edit: It's a real privilege to live in an era when I can hear new music that's just as great as that in the classical repertoire. If it wasn't for YouTube, I would never know that modern composers are still composing masterpieces of beautiful music. All the modern music I've heard at concerts and recitals hasn't been as melodious, effective, and complex as music from previous eras, so I thought nobody wrote beautiful music any more. It was great to find out I was wrong! Now I wonder how many amazing pieces have been lost/forgotten through the decades/centuries because people had no way to share them with the wider world...
