The less color of the ground beef I buy the better. They dye ground beef in grocery stores red to make them seem more alluring. If you buy it in actual butcher shops it's so much better.

My mince was in fridge 2 days and it smells strange this says it should smell like iron but that's it I have no idea what iron smells like so just thrown out dinner this didn't really explain much but I definitely didn't like the smell !! Lol no spaghetti bog for me tonight 😭 (that seems really fast tho just 2 days) so defrosted meat should be eaten that day that's my suggestion if it's been unfrozen for more then a day it's gone off throw it out !! Not WORTH getting sick

I don't believe that. I come from a country where the beef, when exposed to the environment
all red when fresh but after being exposed to the light and environment, slowly will lose its it's exterior bright red (freshness) and turn less bright red, but in the interior it was still red. I strongly believe that many supermarkets in Canada, often mix old grey/blackish ground beef with the fresh looking ground beef in the exterior so they can sell the old meat inside in de packager of ground beef.
Check it carefully when you buy ground beef, it looks perfectly fresh, bright red in the outside and then exactly in the middle of the ground beef package you will find the grey/black ground beef, as if it was purposely stuffed in the package off fresh meat to mislead the customers.
This is hiding the fact that they are selling old meat as fresh ground beef and this is misleading the customers and it is not acceptable. People should be able to see before they purchase anything and more food, and they stores should not be misleading the customers. People should be able to choose if to buy old meat or not.
