I iust got back from Montana my mom bkoke her hip was in hospital not looking good.i went to place called club tavern waiter asked why i was distraught told him i was taking food to hospital.he paid for my meal i was completely shocked and left then i realized what happened restored my faith and was able to pass the good vibe on to my mom i think it helped i went back next day put a big tip in. Envelope saying thanx from a total stranger.i could never repay the feeling i got from the gesture

I happen to be a big tipper. But not for any other reason than I once was on the receiving end of tips. And I was very satisfied with nearly all the tips I received of those times. I treat everyone, regardless of tips or not, with a happy smile and talk. And I have been more than equally rewarded in life. I still tip heavily because I realize that they may really near some extra money for their living situations and since we are well off now, why not...

A few years ago I had a similar experience. I frequented a restaurant owned by a friend, a fellow veteran. One evening as I enjoyed a meal I was talking with a couple who had stopped to overnight on their way home. We had a very pleasant conversation, and at the end of the meal the night manager invited me to go outside with her for a cigarette. Thinking I had somehow offended someone but she didn’t want to embarrass me publicly, I agreed. When we got outside, she handed me a gift certificate from the couple I had been talking with - it was for $100! I was amazed, and when I was back inside I realized her invitation was to give the couple cover to leave through the front door without having to accept my thanks. I was truly amazed and felt blessed.
