What is ASMR?

Autonomous sensory meridian response (ASMR) is a neologism for a perceptual phenomenon characterized as a distinct, pleasurable tingling sensation in the head, scalp, back, or peripheral regions of the body in response to visual, auditory, tactile, olfactory, or cognitive stimuli.

Clinical definitions aside, ASMR is a warm comforting feeling that, for most, starts with tingles beginning in your scalp and moving down through your spine. This sensation is relaxing and warm. It is almost euphoric at times. It can provide comfort and be an enjoyable feeling you will want to experience again and again. Each individual may experience different things that trigger this feeling. It may be the sound of a soothing voice, or calm and gentle movements. This channel is a way to give back to other ASMR havers so they can explore their options and find a trigger that allows them to feel calm and relaxed.
