Today we are reviewing another WISE, that if you follow my channel KNOW is one of my favorite microbrands!! Hand assembled in Thailand, each and every one was incredibly well made with almost no foreign materials found even under macro and with impecable finish. Their quality is so high and so consistent for the price, I started reffering to them as Grand Seiko of Microbrands!
The ADX is a TRUE travelers GMT as it uses a Miyota 9075 that allows you to move the hour hand independently, so changing time zones as you travel is easy and you don't have to stop the minutes and seconds, unlike more common "caller" GMT that we usually see on microbrands that use Seiko NH34 and ETA based GMT movements, where you can move the GMT hand instead of the hour hand.
This being WISE, they also made a PROPER GMT bezel that is not only bidirectional, but also has 72 clicks, as a GMT bezel should have. Again, most microbrands out there simply slap a GMT insert on to an existing diver bezel that is usually 60 or 120 clicks and unidirectional, showing WISE IS on a another level.
It is also another model of theirs done in 904L steel, the same one used by Rolex, instead of the more common 316L, and it comes on their new bracelet that, despite having T-shaped male end links, doesn't increase the total lug to lug of the watch, thanks to a clever design.
This is definitely THE BEST WISE I've handled so far and IMHO the best GMT under $1.000 on the market!
As usual, stay tuned for the full review

I have this watch and it is superb. It's so comfortable on the bracelet, looks great and keeps excellent time.

Gorgeous watch! The only change I would make is that I'd swap the polished and brushed links on the bracelet. Brushed center links tend to show less scratches. Otherwise, it's a winner 👍

I’m not much into GMT watches, but I have to say that is a beautiful watch. Thank you for bringing it to us.

2:25. That's your opinion. Whether you have a caller or traveller GMT, the best way to travel with either is this: You keep hour and minute on home time, keep the GMT hand on UTC, and use the bezel for the local time. Every pilot I know uses it that way. It's because moving the bezel is easier than unscrewing and screwing the crown. Whether you have a caller or traveller GMT, you use it the same way. Where the caller GMT pulls ahead is when you have to rotate through watches and your GMT goes flat. With a caller - you only have to set the time, and GMT takes care of itself. With a traveller GMT you have to first set the GMT hand, and then set the time. It's a pain. That is why I avoid Rolex GMTs and any movement that copies them, and stick with the superior callers GMT.

On the wise web site they are currently sold out. Any idea when will this wonderful watch be back and available to buy?

I fell in love with this watch on the first sight. Especially this root beer/gold version . Saw it on the launch day on their web site. I just need to justify the need of a true GMT watch...

I purchased the black/gray bezel with red GMT hand. It’s stunning! Love the finishing and fit of it, even on my 6” wrist it looks great. Don’t forget to use their code at checkout to save $50. As usual, excellent photography & good review. Thank you!

I bought this exact model and a full face lume Hitman and they are 2 of the nicest by far. The quality is superb. The level of detail is unmatched and this is far from a copy of a more expensive brand. No this micro brand was referred to me by a friend and I did not make a bad decision. No one will have the same watch as you most likely in a room full of people. That makes it even better IMO. Be unique and stand out from the crowd.

I bought a watch from MaMaCoo lightly used for my last milestone birthday. Don't wear it as much as it deserves, but not afraid to, either. It's stunning . Good taste, Sir.

I’ve got a BNIB green bezel up for grabs. Awesome watch, I’m just on to the next one.

what a beautiful watch, and although I have never held one the quality of it looks exceptional. Wise brand is without question on my list for future watches after the Nomos I've been eyeing

I just keep looking at this timepiece, it's so beautiful. It's just that with my 19cm wrist, a 40mm makes it look small and this watch should be bold. I have several 42mm watches and even they look small. If only there was a 44mm version...

I just bought this watch recently as I only have caller GMTs in my collection. I like most things about it except:
1. there is no quickset date function. As I have many other watches, I don’t wear the same one often. So the next time I wear this watch again the date would be off by many days. To set it to the correct date can only be done by moving the hour hand clockwise until I get to the correct date; which is a pain.
2. To set the GMT hand to a specific hour, I need to pull the crown to the 2nd position and turn the crown until the GMT and minute hands show the right time, then push the crown to the 1st position to adjust the hour hand to the hour I want. Another painful process.
Wish I had known this about traveller GMTs before I bought it. My initial euphoria about this watch is greatly diminished.

I said it before and will say it again, aesthetically the AD8 is a more handsome design. Effectively it is just more svelte and subtle, while it actually isn't really that subtle as a watch anyway. So the design language overall on the GMT is moving in a direction I prefer less, which emphasises toolishness (if smartly done) and sportiness. Mainly with respect to the mixed finishes on the case I do agree that the GMT has an advantage in offering further design prowess. I think the bronze (when fresh) AD8s show how nice that model is with a brushed accent or two, so really I feel they should consider doing that in steel too. Then the competition would increase further. I do also still think that the handset is a nice innovation on the GMT, possibly just further emphasising its Thainess. But looking at them side by side I'm happy to say that the handset on the AD8 looks completely congruent on that dial, so changing them over would unlikely have been equally successful. Those are signs of good detail oriented design: the whole watch needs to make sense for wise; it's not just an interchangeable set of elements.

Funny how I still love to look at watches but does not have the need to buy one after I bought the San Martin Water Ghost
