The Phaeton indeed is super underrated, but owning one nowadays, at least here in Finland is a nightmare. Getting parts for this thing is extremely difficult even from abroad. VW themselves often turn these cars down just because sourcing parts is not an easy task. And yes, the car is old, but as the car never gained a following, parts became really sparse and the ones who owns one of them, most likely have deep pockets or are extremely handy around cars. And if i'm not mistaken the engines weren't the most reliable ones on the block, so having an engine failure would set you back... a lot.

the S54 powered Z4M* isn't underhyped at all, if you try looking for one they are way more expensive than an E46 chassis. same with the Z3M with the S52 way more expensive than the E36 M3

Recently bought a V70 T5 with a manual. Thing is the best handling car I've ridden in, and corners like a beast. It's a bit rough, but still runs amazing. 0-60 isn't anything to shake a stick at but like a 30 roll will surprise anyone who doesn't expect it. Would be the ultimate sleeper if it still had the muffler.
