OMG worst experience ever. YOU NEED THE C-WIRE (RED WIRE) If you don't have this setup, the base will not charge and will loose power / you'll have no thermostat. Garbage.

Be careful what customer support says, the common wire is most likely necessary, even if they insist otherwise. Also beware of promises made during chat sessions, or over the phone, they don’t always fulfill their promises. Sadly.
