It's not 'nose diving', it's in a flat spin due to icing conditions that have prevented the aircraft from being controlled, ATR 72 has crashed before, exact same reason.

*NOT A 'NOSE DIVE'* That is a _FLAT SPIN._ It's an ATR-72 and they are VERY unstable when they take on a little bit of icing - for example flying through a cloud that is cool enough for water to beging to freeze.
