I dunno for sure who started wing's, but I read in the surf mags around 30+ yes ago - Terry Fitzgerald was the man who started wing's.

Yes, they do act like a pivot point, and they seen to loosen up a board more.

The board is super sick you just have to get used to turning from the rail vs the fins which in the long term makes you a better 🏄‍♀️
