My grandfather died when I was 10, but i remember him a lot through Garp. He was 6'9" and had hands large and strong enough to palm a 20 pound bowling ball and throw it like a baseball. He was one of the strongest and joyful men ive ever met and he was a veteran as well. It was very emotional for me to have luffy who i already projected myself onto have a grandfather so much like my own.

My favorite bit about this whole sequence is the anime only fans turning nervously back towards marineford and realizing how fucking lucky Sakazuki was that Garp was being held down

One of my favorite things about one piece is that for years everyone was hyped about fruit powers, but secretly training hard, having a strong will, and personal drive is the most OP power in one piece by far.

What I love the most about this clip is the look on other Sword members face knowing what was about to happen. You can imagine them thinking "these pirates are cooked".
